After office-hour activities

The intense and high pressure of work during the office-hour need to be balanced with relaxing activities afterwards. We are not talking about work-life balance or anything. It is about how we spend our time to be more fruitful for us and for others. Here are some tips from digima ASIA for you:

1. Family time
There are a lot of people who are working behind the scene, spending their time to make sure you are up and running at the office. Time to seek them out. Successful people make sure to take care of their families, even when time is the rare commodity. Visit them, hangout with them, tell them your story, listen to their story as well and most of the time, you are going to have a good time. It’s your family after all.

2. Hangout with your friends
Human are social beings. To connect with your friends is one of the most enjoyable parts of life. Before our 20s, friends are plenty, so does your time. Now ‘busy’ is a popular word and friends tend to get short by it. Try to schedule a meeting with them and be committed to it!

3. Do your hobby
Do you like to draw something? To write something? To build something? Then it’s show time! Do what you love the most, you can mix your hobbies up. Show the world what you are up to! Who knows what kind of idea or wonder that you can produce out of this time?

4. Learn something
Whether it is a job-related class, something that catches your personal interest, or any additional skill-based course, nothing can go wrong by learning something. Some of them may teach you something you will use in your daily job, while others may inspire you and your surroundings to be better.

5. Do a stay-cation
Vacation is a sensitive word. You have to invest time and money for it. Unfortunately most of the time we don’t have the luxury to have them both at the same time. So how about actively seeking out new places and experiencing various activities in your city? Surprisingly it can still be a good source of refreshment.

6. Get a good rest
“Get enough sleep,” is a common suggestion for a lot of us. Please consider to take the advice seriously. You can do and go anywhere, but don’t forget to get what you need the most: rest. Adults need in average 8 hours of sleep. It is good for your mind and body. People with enough sleep will have a healthy look and make smarter decisions according to some studies. Just make sure not having too much of it.

All in all, there is no temptation higher than to go straight home and sleep for 10 hours or so. However, in the long run, it is not a recipe for success. Whether you realize or not, the most productive people have their own strategies to recharge their energies. You may learn something new from what you do after work, perhaps you do it just few minutes at a time, but eventually you will learn more than the others. You may not be an expert on it, but you will always know more.
